MINN KOTA

Celebrating over 70 years of product excellence

The Minn Kota electric trolling motor began its life in 1934 in Fargo, North Dakota.  Mr. O. G. Schmidt, inventor of the trolling motor, was known to be a man of many diverse ideas.  Prior to the trolling motor, Mr. Schmidt invented, produced and sold a copper soldering torch from his home in Wheatland, North Dakota.  Due to its success, manufacturing operations were then moved to Fargo.  Because of its proximity to the MINNesota – North DaKOTA border, Mr. Schmidt named the business The Minn Kota Manufacturing Company.

Minn Kota is the oldest manufacturer of electric fishing motors in the world with nearly 70 years of hard-earned experience in the lab and on the water.  Throughout their history, Minn Kota has led the way in product innovation and cutting-edge technology.  Their list of Minn Kota “firsts” supports this commitment to trolling motor development and the fishing community.

Product Review:  Maxxum Pro 80   A+

I have the Max Pro 80, BG/US2/foot, with a 42" shaft.  This trolling motor has it all, and delivers every ounce of the "Anywhere, Anytime" performance with only HALF the effort!

The BowGuard 360 protects from damages to my boat and trolling motor itself by breaking away on impact from stumps, rocks and other structures.

Since I like to move from spot to spot, the Lift-Assist makes it so much easier to lift the motor in and out of the water, saving me energy and exertion throughout the day.

Universal Sonar 2 provides me interference-free sonar performance, water temperature sensing and dual-beam capabilities.

Digital Maximizer extends my battery life up to 5 times longer, giving me more time slow-trolling on the water.

Weedless Wedge blade allows me to pass through anything, including vegetation at any speed without draining valuable battery power.

Need I say more???
